Recommended ReSources
In no particular order, here are some of the resources I have found helpful for my journey:
Books:
Books:
- Steve Burns - New Trader Rich Trader - To me, this is a must-read trading book, particularly for new traders, it's a narrative, but I feel it really illustrates the journey that all traders must go through.
- Michael Covel - Trend Following - This probably one of the first trading books that I read, and it really changed my view of the markets and how I interacted with them.
- Alexander Eldar - Trading for a living - One of the best summaries of trading psychology I've read. It really set out some the mindset issues that a trader needs to manage if they want to trade successfully.
- Mark Douglas - Trading in the Zone - one of the few trading books I have in hardcopy. This book is probably one of the most powerful shortcuts a trading can take to improving there trading to become consistently profitable, I honestly cant recommend this book enough.
- Daniel Crosby - The Behavioral Investor - This is a book I'm currently listening to. It sets out some of psychological traps for investors and how to manage them.
- www.toptradersunplugged.com/resources/market-trends/ - An excellent resource for trend following traders - I particularly like the trend barometer as a quick reference for current market conditions.
- The Systematic Investor Series - This is my favourite podcast run by Neils Karstrup-Larson from Dunn Capital. Really highlights what systematic (trend following predominately) trading is really about.
- Akil Stokes - The Trading Coach - Akil's podcasts are excellent for bite-size (most episodes are less than 10 minutes) insights into how you can improve your trading. I'd highly recommend it/
- Jason Graystones- Always Free - this is the podcast that inspired this website. I'd describe Jason's podcast as an English version of the Barefoot Investor; however there is more trading bend to it rather than passive investing
- Market Mentors Network - A great social network for Aussie Traders.
- Sublime Trading Launchpad on Facebook - A great group for new traders, they have helped me on my journey to consistent profitability, they also have paid programs, Sublime Apprenticeship and Sublime Phoenix. I've been a member of both and found them extremely helpful in my journey, particularly in instilling confidence in my own ability to analyse the markets and trade systematically.
